Bristol-Myers To Stop Selling
Antibiotic With Safety Risk

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) has decided to stop selling an
antibiotic that has safety problems and return the rights for the drug
to the company's Japanese partner.
The New York pharmaceutical company will stop selling Tequin, which
was found to increase the risk of blood-sugar problems. In February,
Bristol-Myers strengthened the drug's label to warn of the potential
for high and low blood-sugar levels, both of which can be fatal. It
also recommended the drug not be taken by diabetics, who must control
