Cipro + Floxin
Posted on 29 May 2001
Jeff, 33

I am so thankful that I found this group. I thought I was losing my mind. I took floxin for one day and got incredibly sick so the doc switched me to cipro. I was on cipro for 12 days and during that time ended up with a rash of red dots on my arms, legs and buttocks. I also developed incredible joint and muscle pain in my thigh/hip, and legs. Lastly, about three days after finishing up the medicine, I developed what my doctor called "Geographic tongue". This sounds a lot like the conditions that many have spoke about on this site. That cleared up fairly quickly.

I should mention that I experienced night sweats and sleeplessness while on these meds. Now it has been a month since my last cipro and I am still experiencing muscle and joint pain in my legs. The rash is clearing up but not entirely gone. I am still experiencing anxiety and panic attacks, which I never had until th emedicine.

For a while I though that I was showing the signs of HIV and get tested. This came back negative. Until I saw this sight I could not explain why I was feeling this way.

Thank you so much for all of the information. It has helped me a great deal in talking myself out of these panic attacks.

Has anyone else experienced teh rashes like I have on cipro or floxin? I've heard people talk about pain in the legs, how about in the thigh or groin? Sincerely, Jeff
