Levaquin
Posted on 1 October 2002
Dave, Sorry to hear you are having to post on this site. Let me tell
you I have been there, done that. I was on Levaquin for almost 2
months for the Prostatitus(SP) and had the exact same problems as
you.. One day my left arm and leg went numb, and next thing I know I
had a panic attack.. it went away and 2 days later WHAM, another panic
attack. I had horrific panic attacks for 3 weeks straight, before it
started to calm down a little. Some lasted almost all damn day long.I
quit taking Levaquin right after the first time my arm tingled. My
skin developed a rash also. Levaquin can cause severe problems for a
long time after stopping the drug.
I went to my primary doctor and he told me Levaquin could not have
caused this, and the horrific anxiety was due to stress.. HA! What an
ass. He tried to prescribe me Paxil and sent me home.
I then went to the uruologist who prescribed me Levaquin, and he told
me right away Levaquin caused the anxiety.
It took me 2-3 months before the anxiety slowed. I did not sleep much
those months. I used Valerian to help sleep at night, and also Kava
for the jittery feelings during the day.. Even though my anxiety
lasted 2-3 months, the jittery feelings lasted around 4-5 months.
Worst part is that I did not have any muscle problems other than
twitching in the first 2 months after levaquin.....2 MONTHS AFTER
STOPPING LEVAQUIN I WOKE UP AND EVERY MUSCLE IN MY BODY HURT. I could
not even walk for a couple weeks. I have been fighting this ever
since. It has been well over 10 months now since stopping Levaquin,
and I still have daily problems. It has slowly gotten better over
time, but at this point, it has been one hell of a battle.
I hope that you will not have to endure what I and others here have
experienced from this terrible drug. Take care Kevin
