Cipro + Levaquin + Tequin
Posted on 12 November 2002
I have been desperately ill following taking Cipro, Tequin, Cipro and
then Levaquin for diverticulitis and a prostate infection. I am now
about 4 months post the Tequin Rx, which is when I started to have
problems. My hands burn as if they were on fire, my legs tingle and my
feet burn at night. I can not sleep without waking every hour to
burning or icy tingling pain in my upper extremities (arms, hands,
fingers) or numbness because a limb or even a few fingers have "fallen
asleep". I can't believe that these drugs could have done so much
damage in such a short amount of time to the point of almost disabling
pain. Am I doomed to live with this forever? My Dr's are telling me
this is caused by stress and anxiety and fear of disease, but I've
never been this sick and I've never been one to go to the Doctor
unless I absolutley HAD to - I don't FEEL like a hypochondriac, this
pain is real! The sobbing episodes have subsided now that I've been
put on Paxil and Zyprexa, as well as the burning face and ears, but
the fear of a long term disability is still horrendous. I have been
tested for diabetes and HIV, and am completely negative of those dread
diseases. Can stress lead to this hellish place I'm in now with my
pain? If so, how can I tell my mind to stop torturing me? I have not
seen a neurologist yet, will he/she be able to really help me?
