Subject: Tooth Pain as Cipro Side Effect?

I started 500mg of Cipro, twice daily about a week ago, for prostatitis. I take
any medication reluctantly but have been pleasantly surprised by a lack of side
effects so far. The only thing I seem to have is tooth pain, which comes
shortly after taking each dose and then goes away, but seems to have been
getting a little worse each time, i.e., lasting a little longer. I haven't seen
this as a known side effect and was wondering if others have had it, and/or if
it may point to something else. Thanks in advance.

Subject: anaphylatic shock to avelox

Hi,

Over a year ago, I experienced immediate anaphylatic shock to the antibiotic
Avelox. I went into shock, throat and tongue swelled etc.. The paramedics were
at my home in two minutes and luckily I was transported to our nearest hospital
where I was treated and released later in the day. Needless to say the whole
experience was very traumatic for myself, my husband and our five children.
Since that day, I have had an incredibly difficult time. I started
experiencing "panic attacks" when I even thought about having to take any
medication. I thought I was having another anaphylatic shock to something I
ate and was rushed to the hospital. Anything new, whether it is a particular
food, skin care and especially medication puts me into a state of panic.
I've only been able to take Claritin and Mortin since my reaction and that's
not even easy. I'm forty two years old, worked with the mentally retarded and
terminally ill before I had my own family and ALWAYS considered myself to be a
positive, strong individual, but this has been quite a challenge.
Two of my children have Cystic Fibrosis and I have to continually give them
their medication on a daily basis which has never been a problem, but lately I
worry if they might have a reaction to something too.
Well, sorry that I have written so much, but I really was hoping that someone
might have experienced similar things as I have. I do know that I have become
very sensitive to foods and even drugs like Tylenol and was wondering if it's
all in my mind or what?? Will I ever be able to take another medication,
especially an antiobiotic without the fear again??
Does anyone have any suggestions that has worked for them? Please e-mail with
any comments at adair1@c... Thanks so much, Charlene

Subject: tequin long term effects

Last July I was qiven tequin for 20 days for a severe sinus
infection. About 3 weeks after I completed taking them I started
having severe stomach and digestive problems. I have since had
every possible test you can have on your digestive system and
was diagnosed with gastroparesis and IBS. I never had these problems
before my dose of tequin. Has anyone experience similiar problems?
If so have they gotten better or am I just doomed to a life with
constant problems. Thanks.

Subject: Cipro Adverse Event
I live in Detroit MI and am going through the tendon issue with
taking Cipro. Does anyone know if a good doctor in the Detroit Area
to see? I hope this pain does not last long. It has been 2 weeks now.

Subject: Am I having an ADR to Levaquin?
Hello group -
3 weeks ago I was given Levaquin for a UTI; 7 days, 500 mg. During
that period, I noticed my left knee would twitch while I was lying
down. On another day, another persistent twitch in the right ankle. I
thought nothing of it. Five days after finishing the course, I
developed swollen tonsils accompanied by a kind of aching/tightness
in my neck and the back of my head that has lasted two weeks now. It
feels as if the tendons are very firm at the base of my neck
(collarbone) and armpits. I suspected lymph node swelling (although
the physician who examined me said 'those are tendons' to the spots I
indicated, besides the tonsils) and was catapulted by that into an
hiv anxiety, but after looking over this board I think I may be
having an ADR. An unaswered email I wrote to an online doctor
read 'Is there a condition known as hardened lymph ducts?' I have
noticed a thin cord portruding noticeably that runs down both sides
of my neck, below the ear, that others don't seem to have. The lymph
nodes above my ears feel big inside my head, but the weirdness is not
matched by the external (normal) size.
Anyway, I still had a UTI so I got another prescription of it, but
after taking 2 more I am thinking of stopping. Just today I had a
very unusual foot falling asleep episode while I was sitting upright
on my couch as always.
SO: does this sound like an ADR (nothing bad happening until 5 days
post-treatment)? Should I stop taking it?
Thanks for reading.
