A case is reported of allergic contact dermatitis from 4-bromoacetoacet-2,4-dimethylanilide and 4-bromomethyl-6,8-dimethyl-2(1H)-quinolone in a 19-year-old chemical laboratory technician. The relationship between the chemical reactivity of these compounds and their sensitizing potential is discussed.
