Acute hepatitis associated with oral levofloxacin therapy in a hemodialysis patient. CMAJ 2003 Apr 1;168(7):847-8 (ISSN: 0820-3946) Schwalm JD; Lee CH Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine, McMaster University, Hamilton, ON. Levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic commonly used to treat respiratory, urinary tract, skin and soft-tissue infections. Levofloxacin is generally well tolerated and has fewer reported side effects than other fluoroquinolones. We present a case of levofloxacin-associated severe hepatocellular injury. The hepatitis resolved soon after discontinuation of levofloxacin. Comment In: Comment In: RefSourcd:CMAJ. 2003 Oct 14; 169(8):755/PMID:14557312
