The Help Section is currently being revised to incorporate
the new
features being added as this site is currently being remodeled.
Welcome to the Help Page for the Research site. The site is set up in such a manner that you can access the Research by visiting the various Web Pages that contain the links to this data. Much like a large reference book with the Home Page being the Index.
Every effort has been made to make this site as accessible as possible to the computer illiterate. As such a lot of "bells and whistles" have not been utilized and straight text links substituted instead. Any suggestions to improve the accessibility would be appreciated and when feasible will be utilized.
With thousands of files making up the site there is definitely going to be errors. Not all browsers will support the web pages layouts either. Older Netscape users in particular will experience some problems. It is recommended that you use IE Explorer and set your video to True Color (24 bit) 1024 x 768 resolution and/or 800x600 resolution. Every effort has been made to make the site compatible with all IBM platforms Download speed depends on whether or not you are using dial up or DSL. Some pages are HUGE and will take a considerable amount of time to load.
This site was built using Microsoft FrontPage 2002 with the video resolution set to 1024x768.
Please report any broken links or other problems you may have accessing this site to fqresearch@aol.com
Across the top of each page you will find a series of drop down menus much like you would find with any computer software programs. The items found under the "Support" heading are linked directly to the website listed and will open each website listed in a separate window independent of the FQ Research web pages.

Should the menu not be displayed due to the browser you are using or your current browser settings, you will find a menu alternative directly below the search box at the top of the home page which will allow complete access to all the web pages without using the drop down menu interface::
Each selection will open in a separate browser window. We have decided to use multiple windows rather than overwriting the current window due to the fact that a user may switch between the various windows many times while doing research.
You will also find graphics which are active. When your mouse passes over the active graphics it will turn into a hand. Double clicking will take you to the page indicated by the graphic.
Text that is underlined and blue is also a link to the page described.
The Research Archives Clicking on this will take you to that page
You will also find "Hoover Buttons" at the top of the older pages that have not yet been converted to this new format.
Across the top of the older pages you will find "Hoover Buttons" such as "Home" "Research" "Pkg Inserts" "Mission Statement" "Terms of Use". These older pages are being replaced with the new interface. But with over 4000 such pages a number of them are still being utilized until the remodeling of the site is completed.
Depending on whether or not you use these tools to navigate between the Home Page and the Research or whether you use the "Back" function of your browser you may find several pages still visible after you have left them. This is not an error by your browser but a built in function that allows researchers to access numerous pages at once.
It is recommended that if you wish to print out the Research that you use a "copy paste" and utilize your text editor to avoid having the graphics of the page being printed as well. To do this bring your mouse to the first letter of the text and then, while holding down the left mouse button, drag your mouse to the end of the text and release the left mouse button. The text will then be highlighted. Press "Ctrl" and then "C" to copy the text. Activate your text editor and select "Paste". The text you selected should now be "pasted" into your text editor. You should then be able to "Save" the research as a text file or you can print it out. PDF files require Adobe Reader to access, print and save.
Adobe Reader is a special program that allows you
to access PDF files. (Portable Document Files) which is a rather
archaic means of storing documents. However a large amount of older research was stored in this
format. You must have Adobe Reader installed on your computer to
access this file format. If you do not have Adobe Reader the
following link
has been provided by which you can download this file on to your
computer at no cost:
Download a Free copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader

Should you become "lost" within these pages just click on the "Home Page" link to return to the Homepage, minimize the Homepage, then close all the remaining windows. When your browser is clear then maximize the Homepage.
We appreciate your patience while we remodel the site and regret that such a major project would result in such an inconvenience to our users.
